The Bailout Biathlon is a new match format. Featuring three separate solo courses. Each tailored to pistol/PCC only, carbine only, and precision rifle/DMR only. Check out the CONOPS for more information.

Tentative Courses of Fire/Scenarios

Each course has a 2-hour and 40-minute run time limit. Every stage has a 2-minute, or 120-second, par time.

Pistol/PCC Course

Companies and websites are getting hit by cyber-attacks left and right. AT&T cell towers are down. It’s everyday life as we’ve become accustomed to. Society is still functioning but there is a definite vibe that people are on edge. You still have responsibilities or things you want to do that cause you to go out in public. Your desired destination isn’t a quick stop with easy access to your vehicle. Parking is insane. Distances are within 100 yards. You have the feeling that you need to roll heavier than usual but need to play it cool. You reach in your go bag and grab a few extra magazines for your everyday carry pistol. You might even grab that small pack that nicely conceals your pistol caliber carbine. After locking your vehicle, you venture off.

  • You reach your destination and need to use the bathroom. As you’re doing your business, a shady group of people enter the bathroom. They’re loud and excitable that now the Verizon towers are down. As you exit the stall, they press you on who your cell provider is and back you into a corner. You give them verbal commands that it’s none of their business and to let you leave. One of them pulls out a knife and says give me your phone. You address the threat. Others react and try to disarm you. They aren’t backing down. Find the exit.

  • You exit the bathroom. Due to the insulation and building design, nobody heard the shots. You conceal your firearm once again to blend in. Civil unrest has unleashed outside. Everyone’s phones are locked on the same screen saying, “Death to America”. The panicked sounds are deafening. Someone goes in the bathroom after you, to escape the noise. They see the aftermath of what just happened. You try to explain, but the person isn’t listening. They only keep telling everyone that you’re a terrorist. Soon a mob forms that you cannot reason with. Again, you are trapped and fear for your life.

  • Your shots this time are un-muffled, and reports ring out far. A local gang that hangs out in the area believes that a turf war has started. They arm themselves and begin to hunt for their rival. You keep your weapon produced as rounds are incoming and armed assailants are prevalent. Cover is essential.

  • Your vehicle is in sight. You wish to escape. All cellular and radio functions have ceased. Armed men wearing masks have posted up around your vehicle. You’ve waited for them to disperse but they only keep growing in numbers. One of them appears from behind you. Get to your vehicle.

Carbine Course

Approaching your vehicle, it is clear that additional firepower is necessary. You have the opportunity to resupply and retrieve your carbine kit. The environmental conditions restrict visibility to a few hundred yards. As the situation intensifies, immediate action is required.

  • Additional armed assailants emerge, barricading your vehicle and muttering about a warning from Kamila. With no alternatives, you must confront the situation and abandon your vehicle.

  • The attackers become visibly sick and begin to vomit. They exhibit increased speed and anger. Many of them form a hoard, and you must force your way at close range. They take several hits to disable them.

  • You’re able to create some distance. The infected continue to advance, seemingly sent straight from hell. Multiple hits are still needed to disable them.

  • After neutralizing the threats but running low on ammunition. You decide to circle back to your vehicle in the hope that things have settled down. Several infected hell demons still inhabit the parking lot but are unaware of your presence. Based on previous engagements, you decide to go for headshots. Head shots seem to be more effective. Fight to your vehicle.

Precision/Designated Marksman Rifle Course

You manage to maneuver your vehicle out of the parking space and onto the road, which is strewn with disabled vehicles and debris. Navigating around these obstacles consumes a significant amount of fuel, and with no gas stations in sight, you eventually run out of fuel as the road becomes blocked. Nearby, you notice a truck adorned with numerous hunting brand stickers, crashed and inoperable. Upon searching the truck, you discover a long-barreled rifle equipped with a magnified optic, along with an ample supply of ammunition. With a wilderness area close by, you head towards it, seeking a less populated refuge.

  • A steep trail becomes evident. With the type of rifle you have, an elevated position is tactically advantageous. As you climb, in an opening, you see several infected roaming the mountainside. Their body motions are concurrent with what you’ve previously encountered, and they are headed towards some seemingly unaffected hikers coming out of the mountains to see what the commotion is. Defend the hikers.

  • You continue upward. The trail summits. The hell demons have consumed everything below and expanded into the wilderness. They are unaware of your presence and the opportunity for headshots presents itself. You neutralize them.

  • After waiting in the woods for a while, nothing else has come into your area of concern. Thinking that the coast is clear, you decide to descend the trail. Food and water have been expended. By this time the military has deployed, and martial law has been enacted. You see the military executing uninfected citizens. Another firing line forms. With confidence in your zero, you save the innocent citizens.

  • Bring a real rifle and the skills to use it. Start from shooting position, 30 seconds to score 2 hits on a 30” gong at 1000-yards. Successful shooters score a sticker and entry into a prize drawing.

Having saved the day, you regroup with other survivors. Shaken yet open to newcomers, you band together and establish a camp. The evening unfolds peacefully, almost enchantingly, in light of the day's events.

Thank you to our hospitable hosts, hardworking range officers, relentless competitors, and generous sponsors for making our events the incredible adventures that they are!
